Pediatric Eye Exam
Eye exams for children are very important to ensure your child’s eyes are healthy and have no vision problems.
Dr. Lininger recommends a yearly exam to keep a close eye on any visual and eye health changes for your child. Although vision screenings by a pediatrician or family practice doctor are helpful in gauging your child’s vision, it is not a substitute for a full comprehensive eye exam performed by eye doctors.

Preparing for the Exam
Before going to your appointment, please be prepared to tell the doctor of any issues and help information such as:
- Symptoms of eye problems such as difficulty seeing at night, temporary double vision or loss of vision, etc.
- Any family history of eye problems, glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, etc.).
- Any questions about their vision, glasses, contacts, laser surgery, etc.
- Symptoms of eye problems such as difficulty seeing at night, temporary double vision or loss of vision, etc.
- List of Prescriptions and over-the-counter drugs currently being used.
- Your general health condition (existing allergies, chronic health problems, operations, etc.).
It is also recommended that the take the following items with them to their eye appointment:
- Vision Care plan or Insurance card or information
- Glasses, contact lenses or both.
